The No. 038 is a 3" wide spreader for spreading base adhesive across the back of 4" wide vinyl or rubber cove base. The 1/8" x 1/8" V-shaped notches are typically the correct size notch for spreading this adhesive (check manufacturer's recommendations). This 32" long steel straight edge is made from a thin strip of flexible spring steel. It bends easily as necessary to work around obstructions, but afterwards will return to its original flat condition. It works well in tight areas like doorways, corners, and closet areas.
