This hardened, high-carbon steel blade for Crain stripper machines has two 6" long sharpened edges. When one edge of the blade wears out, the other side is still usable, which doubles blade life. Its 5" width produces a blade with some degree of flex that performs well on glued-down carpet removal jobs. A sharp edge is ground to a 30? bevel on both sides. This tool provides a simple way to stretch carpet across the stair tread and form it around the stair nosing. Hook the gripper teeth in the carpet just ahead of the stair nosing, then pull the leverage handle down. A pulling action is generated on the teeth that stretches the carpet across the stair tread. The Swivel-Lock Stretcher gives you the benefits of both straight and swivel heads. The head has 60 degrees of free swivel for patterned carpet. Depress the built-in lock pin, and you can lock the swivel in 5 convenient positions. Lock in the straight position for square stretching, or at 15 degrees for most angle stretching.
